Appliance content online is dominated by "best refrigerator under ₹30,000" style articles. They rank models, quote prices, and are usually out of date within months — because prices move weekly, model numbers change annually, and the specification tables are copied between sites without anyone rechecking them.

What we do instead

We publish the method. How to size a room's cooling load, how to read a star label, what actually determines whether a machine lasts. That knowledge does not expire when a model is discontinued.

The calculators do the arithmetic on numbers you supply — the wattage from your rating plate, the tariff from your bill, the hours you actually use it. We never have to know a price or a specification, which means we never have to be wrong about one.

What we deliberately do not publish

Prices. They vary by retailer, city and week.

Model rankings. The right appliance depends on your room, your household and your usage. A ranked list cannot know any of that, and the ones that pretend otherwise are usually ranked by affiliate commission.

Specification tables. Same reason as the shoes site: there is no source we could take them from honestly, and a stale spec is worse than none.

On the rules of thumb

The sizing guidance here is explicitly approximate and labelled as such on the calculator. A proper cooling load calculation accounts for wall construction, insulation and glazing, which no web form can know. The value of a rule of thumb is that it tells you when a salesperson's suggestion is wildly off — not that it replaces a professional survey.

Nothing is collected

Both calculators run entirely in your browser. There is no account, no database and no server to send your figures to.
